What’s Happening at Trinity

We are inviting our Homebound members, as well as other members who find it difficult to stand or walk to the communion rail, to attend our afternoon service on Wednesday, August 20th, at 1:30PM. Communion will be served in the pews and there will be no standing during the service. There will be a reception with refreshments after the service in the Fellowship Hall. If you are able to attend church regularly, please consider joining us as well. You just may have the chance to visit with someone you have not seen in a while! If you need transportation to the service, please call the church office.

The next Women’s Ministry “Lunch Out” will be Thursday, August 7, at 11:30AM at the Crown Restaurant, located at 1408 2nd Street SW in the Blondell Motel. Parking is south of the hotel on 14th Avenue SW. There is a blue house between the hotel and the parking lot, and the lot is marked “Blondell Motel Parking”. If you turn onto 14th Avenue from 2nd Street, the parking lot will be on the right (across from St. Mary’s Hospital). When you enter the hotel, you should let the person at the desk know that you are parking in the lot.

We are currently in need of teachers for the following Sunday School classes:

5th Grade

There will be a Sunday School teachers’ meeting on Monday, August 18, where seasoned professional teachers will be presenting helpful hints/tips/pointers to help encourage those less confident souls who have offered to serve as teachers.

The next Homebound Service will be on Wednesday, August 20th at 1:30PM. We are looking for volunteers to make phone calls, provide rides and accompany worshippers to the service and to the reception afterwards. If you are interested in helping, please call the church office.

Rebecca Circle will meet at 1:30PM on July 22nd in the Shorewood Activity Room (2205 2nd Street SW). Shorewood residents (husbands included) and visitors are welcome! Call 288-0202 if you’re interested in going! The lesson will be from the Summer Women’s Quarterly, titled, “Speak the Truth.”

Pastor Michael Tindall has accepted a call to serve as Associate Pastor at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. His last Sunday at Trinity will be July 27. We give thanks to God for the ministry Pastor Tindall has provided at Trinity for three years, and pray for God’s blessings on his work in Mankato. Please watch the bulletin for details about a farewell reception.

Adult “Guides” for Trinity’s Head to the Heart Confirmation Program (6th-8th grade)

Responsibilities
* Commit to learning, playing, and promoting Christian service with and among the youth in their charge
* Responsible for helping create an atmosphere of warmth, acceptance, support and Christian nurture
* NOT responsible for teaching the content of each theme
* Chief role is to help kids process the content in small groups of no more than 4 kids, share Highs & Lows, pray for youth, and bless one another
* Harness the power of nonverbal communication
* Lavish care and attention on their “carload of kids”
